After the festival set, someone is seen throwing a punch at the rapper, which he ended with a diss track aimed at Drake.
American rapper Rick Ross was involved in a violent incident on Sunday night in Vancouver after his set at a festival, event organizers confirmed, following a video posted on social media showing a scuffle outside BC Place Stadium.
Ross, 48, was headlining the Ignite Music Festival, which was held at the Plaza of Nations adjacent to the stadium in the downtown area.
In a video shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, Ross is seen having a heated exchange with someone in the crowd, who then throws a punch at the rapper; a fight then breaks out.
Event organizer Lindsey Sparrow, CFO of Canadian Events Agency, said she was backstage during the fight.
She described it as a "brief altercation" that was quickly resolved by security and came after Ross ended his set with Lamar's 'Not Like Us,' a diss track aimed at Toronto rapper Drake.
"Security did a great job and ... everyone exited safely, which is always our primary concern for everyone attending the festival," Sparrow told CBC News.
Other artists on the Ignite Festival bill included Sik-K and Merkules.
Ross, whose real name is William Leonard Roberts II, has topped the charts multiple times over his nearly three-decade career.
Sparrow said the event did its best with security given the occasionally turbulent nature of hip-hop performances and worked closely with law enforcement.
She said she was unaware of any serious injuries or criminal charges resulting from the fight.
Both BC Emergency Health Services and the Vancouver Police Department told CBC News they were not called to investigate after the altercation.

Ross does not address the assault
Although Ross did not later address the apparent assault, he issued a farewell post from Vancouver on his Instagram.
"Vancouver it was fun, until next time," the artist wrote in a post alongside a photo of a branded private jet.
Ross is involved in an ongoing feud with Drake, whose war of words with Lamar lit up social media earlier this year as the two artists released several songs dissing each other.
Drake’s song 'Push Ups,' directly aimed at Lamar, also takes shots at other artists including Ross, Future, Metro Boomin, and The Weeknd.
Within 24 hours of Drake releasing 'Push Ups' on April 13, Ross responded with a track titled 'Champagne Moments,' where he accused Drake of getting a nose job.
