The Associated Press reported that Alexis Ferrell is not Haitian and was born in Ohio.
Canton, Ohio – The Canton Police Department on Wednesday released bodycam footage of 27-year-old Alexis Ferrell, who was arrested in Ohio for allegedly eating a cat.

The incident occurred on Friday, August 16, in the 1100 block of 13th Street SE in Canton. After receiving multiple calls about the event, police arrived at the scene and arrested Ferrell on charges of animal cruelty.
In total, Ferrell was charged with the following offenses:
- Violation regarding companion animals
- Cruelty to animals
- Disorderly conduct
According to a police report obtained by 3News, officers allege that Ferrell 'crushed the cat's head with her foot and then started eating the cat.'
Additionally, officers stated they observed blood on her feet and fur on her lips. After the incident, the Humane Society arrived to retrieve the cat.
Recently, Springfield, Ohio, located 170 miles away from Canton, has been at the center of an immigration debate.
