After the tragic death of a pensioner in a bus accident, Halloween revelers picked up a "severed head" on a street in Edinburgh.

Officials in the Scottish capital set up two forensic tents in the Cowgate area of the city on Saturday evening and later confirmed that a 74-year-old man had died after being struck by a single-decker bus.
Videos posted on social media showed partygoers in costume picking up the head, apparently thinking it was a Halloween prop, before realizing the truth in shock.
Police Scotland stated they were aware of the "videos and images circulating on social media" and urged people not to share them, as they were distressing for the victim's family and for those who witnessed the incident unknowingly.
Police Scotland did not directly confirm reports that a severed head had been found, although the force said the images were not distributed "out of respect" for the deceased's family.
Officials were called to the scene at around 7:25 p.m. on Saturday.
Witnesses mentioned that officers had closed down pubs in the popular nightlife district as they dealt with the disturbing discovery.
Katie McLaughlin, 31, said she and her friends were asked to leave Bannerman's Bar on Cowgate after news of a head being found in the street.

"We were in Bannerman’s having a drink, and there was a band playing in the back when an announcement was made," said Ms. McLaughlin, from Dumfries, who was in Edinburgh with friends, to the Sunday Mail.
“We didn’t hear what was said because it was so noisy, but when we went to leave after finishing our drinks, a staff member stopped us.
“He asked if we hadn’t heard the police announcement outside, and that’s when he told us a severed head had been found on Cowgate.
“I nearly laughed because it was Halloween weekend, and I thought it was a joke. We went back to the bar, where the staff said, ‘No, it’s real.’ They said the police had instructed them to close the pub.
“I saw three police cars, five officers, and a small silver tent. The whole area was cordoned off. It felt very surreal.”
Isolated Incident
Chief Inspector Trisha Clarke, the local area commander, stated, “We are aware of the videos and images circulating on social media, which are causing distress for the deceased’s family and those who inadvertently witnessed them.
“We would ask members of the public not to share them out of respect for his family and to report them on relevant social media platforms to prevent further circulation.
“There has been a lot of speculation, and I would like to reassure the local community that this is an isolated incident, and there is no risk to the wider public.
“This was a tragic incident. We are investigating an accident, and our road policing officers, with the support of local officers, are continuing their inquiries.
“Anyone with concerns or information that may assist in the investigation should contact the police.
