The latest Sundance film, Selina y Los Dinos, was removed from the festival’s online viewing platform on Friday night following the piracy of videos containing a sex scene involving star Dylan O’Brien. The movie Twinless was pulled from the platform after clips from the film began circulating on social media.
Videos from the film, particularly those featuring O’Brien in a sex scene, started spreading on X (formerly Twitter), TikTok, and other social media platforms on Friday night, fueled by the actor’s fans. By early Saturday, most of the videos had been removed, but the film is no longer available on the Sundance Film Festival’s online viewing platform.

“We regret that online ticket holders will no longer be able to access the film,” the festival said in a statement to The Wrap. “We acknowledge and regret the disappointment this may cause. However, part of our commitment to supporting independent filmmakers includes ensuring that they can protect the art they create, both now and in the future. We take copyright violations very seriously and are fully prepared to cooperate with local, state, and federal law enforcement on any piracy-related matters.”
The Wrap understands that the film was pulled due to concerns about spoilers leaking before its official release. The Sundance Film Festival did not immediately respond to The Wrap’s request for comment.
Sundance allows online viewing of selected titles only for pass holders and ticket buyers during the final days of the festival, meaning that only a limited number of people had access to the film after its debut last week. The movie currently has no distributor, but sources told The Wrap that multiple buyers are showing interest.

Directed and written by James Sweeney, the film stars O’Brien and follows two strangers who meet in a grief support group. After its early festival screenings, the film received positive reactions and seemed likely to find a distributor. However, the unauthorized circulation of out-of-context clips has undoubtedly caused frustration for the filmmakers.
Piracy concerns surrounding Sundance films have become a new challenge this year. If filmmakers feel that their movies are not secure, it could have negative implications for the future of online screenings. The festival’s online viewing platform opened on Thursday and remains available through Sunday.
